Custom G8 Intake - New Pics
Got some daytime pics with the cellphone.
Big props to UBG for helping getting all the aluminum cut and j0n for assorted part sourcing and some construction assistance I took the car out for a quick test run and the results speak for themselves. The engine really has a nice growl to it now. NEW 0-60 time from 10/7/08 - 4.55 sec. 0-60 - 4.7 sec with myself and a 200lb friend riding shotgun. T/C On in drive. Car was shaking the tires in first and chirped second slowing things down a bit. Should have had the T/C off but oh well. Overall I could tell the car was a lot stronger and it never lost traction in first gear like this. Everything cost me a little over a $100 to do. IAT Temp Diff between ambient: Before - ~13 deg, After - ~6-8 deg. MAF grams/sec at WOT: Before - ~280, After - ~336 http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...007080728b.jpg http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...007080728a.jpg http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...1007080728.jpg http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...510-7-2008.jpg |

Now all you need is a few, say three or four to start off with, gauges!

Awesome! Very cool man. Are you gunna build a box around the filter to isolate it?

Is it something you can quick swap back the stock air box? I would be interested in seeing a side by side dyno comparison on that. I am sure you picked up a bunch over the stock air box w/ silly straw air silencer. lol

Look great Brian. You've peaked my interest. How much do you have invested?

Featherburner : Maybe just about $150 which could have been done a bit cheaper but I had to order diff. parts which cost me shipping. |
