Ran at englishtown tonight Comments?

13.6 with a 2.0 r/t at 101.12 for my first run then it just got WORSE! i ran high 14 then high 15 then a 13.8.
BALD tires in the rear at 25psi and i mean BALD.
Stock 3.08 open rear
Stock 700r4 converter

My next mods are drag radials a 10 bolt 3:42 rear and a 2400-2600 stall. Im hoping to break 12's in the spring with just that stuff ^.

Mike 10-17-2008 09:34 PM

your next mods should be insurance and registration

Jersyboyy 10-17-2008 10:04 PM

Cars been registered. I just got insurance on the car too windshield is going to be in 2 weeks. But mods as far as go fast mod, all the legal things are being taken care of chu know.

Mike 10-17-2008 10:06 PM

good news

in that case, get it 100% reliable and tuned then start from the back to the front. and don't forget suspension

Jersyboyy 10-17-2008 10:18 PM

I want to do rear stall tires sub frame connectors then take the motor out and stroke it and go through it completely from head to toe making sure its dead on all by summer. Then ill be pleased with the car and work towards looks.

sweetbmxrider 10-18-2008 12:41 PM

that sounds sweet but as mike said, rear suspension parts help out alot. i would probably get adjustable everything to make sure you can fine tune it. that and weight reduction, which i think you have already done

NJ Torque 10-18-2008 12:52 PM

well... do posi. or a rear...

depending on cam size, i might even recomment a larger converter...

then, save money for breaking ****.

NJSPEEDER 10-18-2008 01:25 PM

You have an ok trap speed, what was your 60ft time? Did you shift the car yourself or just leave it in D and let it go?

Work on getting the car to hook first and worry about power later.

NJ Torque 10-18-2008 02:01 PM

Actually for a 13.6 101 MPH is real good...

Yea, on street radials without a posi, that's a damn good ET for that MPH.

What was the 60' time?

- Justin

Jersyboyy 10-18-2008 10:59 PM

60' time was 2.013

I got ET street radials today...few weeks im hoping to have a 4th gen 10 bolt with 373's. a month after that im looking forward to a 2500 tci stall with a lockup for my 700r4 at a local speed shop at a decent deal.

Tru2Chevy 10-19-2008 07:32 AM

I would get some LCA relocation brackets welded onto that rear before you get it in the car, then either pickup a set of aftermarket LCAs or get your stockers boxed. That will help quite a bit for a relatively small cash outlay.

You're suppose to weld them in with the rear installed and do one side at a time. That way you ensure they are welded in the correct location.

i used to go 13.5's in my 87 mustang at like 102mph...i didnt think it was anything special

and i think in barbs car i went 13.9x at 100mph

Jersyboyy 10-19-2008 06:07 PM

Yea im not uber happy about a mid 13 second time slip but considering my setup it is a little better than expected. With the right stall rear and like justin said lcas I should have some impressive times.

WayFast84 10-21-2008 11:52 AM

After seeing this thread, Im going to be pissed if I cant get into the 12's n/a with the bird when its all said and done.

whats your set up?

Jersyboyy 10-21-2008 12:23 PM

Stock rear stock stall/trans bald tires no suspension mods and a mild 350.

WayFast84 10-21-2008 01:14 PM

Do you have 2.73's??! Also what headers are you running? Are they hooker long tubes?

I can get you a pretty good deal on UMI products if your willing to buy into a GP through thirdgen...

NJSPEEDER 10-21-2008 01:41 PM

JSPerformance is a UMI dealer, no need to go throw the crowd on TGO when you can deal directly with an NJFBOA sponsor

Jersyboyy 10-22-2008 01:59 AM

hedman shorties actually and open 3.08 rear.

WayFast84 10-22-2008 06:41 PM

Hmm that's very similar. I have a th350 with a 3500 rpm stall.. open 308's. Thats actually giving me hope!

sweetbmxrider 10-22-2008 07:08 PM

he has a gutted interior too i think?

thats no problem, I have no heat/air or radio

sweetbmxrider 10-23-2008 02:28 PM

yeah like no interior trim, carpet, sound deadening, back seats gutted. having no heat is dumb. i like to thaw in the winter, not freeze

Jersyboyy 10-23-2008 03:59 PM

Yea my cars GUTTED dude I mean all thats in it is the driver seat, center console with radio, dash. Most wiring has been cut out too not to mention no cruise control no a/c-heat components at all its a hardtop and I have a fiberglass hood.

Btw My timing is way off, the car is running rich, it stumbles off idle(still trying to fix that), I was on bald tires.

Way fast...you have a HUGE STALL (might not be the right combo depending on your motor setup and def not right for such a small rear)(stalls dont work like " the bigger the number the faster it is bro") in that th350 which is a better track trans than mine but that rear is going to kill your times. Plus you have to dial that motor in brotha that thing needs alot of cleaning up.
