LT1 Traction Control ?

Here is a question, if an LT1 car doesn't have a traction control button, is the car equipped with traction control? Or is it equipped and you just can't turn it off?

NJ Torque 10-24-2008 12:05 PM

If it doesnt have a button, its not equipped.

karr95 10-24-2008 12:37 PM

Thats easy enough, thank you!

LTb1ow 10-24-2008 03:38 PM

Lucky you.

sweetbmxrider 10-24-2008 03:57 PM

you have t/c? i don't

LTb1ow 10-24-2008 04:06 PM

Yes, remeber that thing hose clamped to the strut brace? Yea that was ASC.

deadtrend1 10-25-2008 04:02 PM

i got TCS on my LT1. The SLP reverse switch is 97 and up. Sucks.

My LS1 has no TCS, but the wiring harness is still there under the console.

sweetbmxrider 10-25-2008 08:05 PM

was it an option on 95? i thought it was standard in 97

LTb1ow 10-25-2008 11:53 PM

Options that cant be deleted. :(

sweetbmxrider 10-26-2008 12:32 AM

wow really? different rear end?

LTb1ow 10-26-2008 05:51 AM

Nope, TCS is a 4 channel rear and otherwise its a three channel. But that part is easy to fix, just unplug it, I just can't find the cable that goes straight from the pedal to the TB.

Friggen sweet! but I can't delete TCS and still maintain ABS can I?

sweetbmxrider 10-26-2008 04:51 PM

Just getting ABS without TCS was possible, but would require more time and money plus - converting the computer from ABS/TCS to ABS only is expensive.
...

LTb1ow 10-26-2008 04:54 PM

Thats what I implied.

Knipps 10-26-2008 04:56 PM

don't have it and don't mind

sweetbmxrider 10-26-2008 04:58 PM

LTb1ow 10-26-2008 05:01 PM

sweetbmxrider 10-26-2008 05:10 PM

NJ Torque 10-26-2008 05:53 PM

My 95 doesnt have traction control?

sweetbmxrider 10-26-2008 06:37 PM

LTb1ow 10-26-2008 06:44 PM

Only the cool people get it.

ar0ck 10-26-2008 07:25 PM

3 channel vs 4 channel? Technically yes due to a reluctor ring on the ring gear.

sweetbmxrider 10-26-2008 11:06 PM

yes but i wasn't sure if you could swap in a 3 channel and maybe wire it up to think it was 4? that would be bad. glad i am TCS free!
