seems legit. whats with the huge carb plate?

emolineaux 10-27-2008 09:49 PM

idk if im going to be selling anything. im going to drop the pan soon to see if its a 2 or 4 bolt. and to see what kind of internals its got. if its a 4 i might just do a basic rebuild and keep her as a backup. as far as the carb plate im not sure yet lol. just got everything last night and just put the stuff on my monte carlo tonight.

LTb1ow 10-27-2008 09:51 PM

Ohh darn, I want those rockers....

emolineaux 10-27-2008 09:52 PM

depending on if its got a stock cast crank i might buy a stroker setup make myself a back up 383 for if the 406 goes

BigAls87Z28 10-28-2008 10:31 PM

I have a set of 1.6 Pro Mag rockers for both self aligning and non-self aligning.

lol the motor came out of my '79, but its a '69 block. I have an explanation for the plate, although its not really that great of an idea. I was told it's a heat shield. I can really only think of one reason why its there, and that is to try to keep fuel temps down, which is supposed to = more horsepower, but I'm not sure how effective it is...I didnt put it on there.

looks great good luck with the engine
