Big problem with LS1 Camaro.

I have a 2001 Camaro that I bought a couple months ago. I was doing general maintenance because the car is running like crap, fuel filter, plugs/wires.

I went to change all of my plugs today and did then all pretty easily EXCEPT for the #2 spark plug(first plug towards radiator on passenger side). It seems like the plug is in the head crooked or something because my plug socket will not seat onto the plug. No matter what angle I try from side or top i cannot get the socket onto the plug, taking the rubber out of the socket does not help either.

I am completely stumped. Also I checked if a piece of boot was stuck in there or something but no that does'nt seem to be the problem. Am I going to have to replace the passenger side head?

Any comments would be appreciated thanks.

even if u find out the head is stripped, u dont have to replace it, it can be repaired and be as good as new

Someone Probbly cross threaded it (last ower) Good excuse for a mild cam/heads package

Some people don't suggest doing this but i have Helicoiled more than three aluminum and cast heads ...at the DEALER!! The Ford tech line told me to this!!....But i did it with out taking the heads off the engines ...there is an actual sparkplug helicoil kit but you have to be careful not the get metal in the engine or you'll destroy the rings ,you have to do it with alot of grease on die

Yes on a ford the plug is stright down i have fixed this problem on a few crowns. on a ls1 i recomend removing the head it will be very hard to get it stright with the head on the car
