wtf! today sucked

well today didnt start out good for me at all. i thought i was on call at work so i was going in 9-5 well on my way to work they were doing construction in moorestown and i was doing like 5mph over the section of road that was cut out. and when i went up onto the normal paved road the lip grabbed my slp and ripped it clean off. so i had to call like 6 different numbers to find out who to talk to about getting my money back for the shop fees to fix it. well im still waiting for the insurance company to call me back but heres the pics i took.
not only did i have to fork out the extra 90 to get it fixed but lost an 8 hours of pay on my next check.

and this all happened before 12 lol
dont forget this exhaust is like a month and a half old.

ouch dude that sucks. i hate those lips when they are repaving. they should really taper the road. did it catch the clamp? maybe turn them towards the top more? weld it?

emolineaux 11-03-2008 12:08 PM

i guess it cought the bolt on the clamp but idk. i took it to the meineke and they welded the over the axle pipe and we moved the clamps basically above the muffler so there out of the way now. just sucks, they did a great job with what they had to work with so im happy

sweetbmxrider 11-03-2008 12:14 PM

yeah i never liked how low the clamps were so i spun mine towards the top. personally, i wouldn't have welded the over axle pipe in case your fuel pump goes bad, or do you mean the 90* elbow? should be able to sneak that out welded.

emolineaux 11-03-2008 12:20 PM

welded the 90 that connects the muffler to y pipe, left the clamps on the muffler and on the driver tailpipe

Just do it the right way instead of hacking up your car like a jackass. Dropping the tank is a breeze.

dead center in the back there. google it, you should find pics!

its not really a breeze to remove timmaaayyy. having a lift and an extra hand helps though. dont know how it is on LS1s but i know on LT1s, theyre in an awfully tight spot. catback has to come down, heat shields, panhard bar and brace, rear has to be dropped and even then it is a pain to take out. you have to spin and twist it and what not. its like a chinese puzzle! lol

deadtrend1 11-06-2008 07:30 PM

I hear you Ron, but still vote to do it the right way. Sowwies.....

wow, you have bad luck with exhausts. hahah.

i welded that magnaflow back together and its working great so far.

hope no more exhausts fall off your car in the future.

don't feel bad I bottomed out a new set of Kooks once entering a shopping center.

now I cringe when ever there is road work with raised manholes.
