Verizon Wireless people

I just picked up a LG Dare...great phone. I know the Blackberry Storm is coming out soon but I didn't feel like waiting.

The Dare is definitely a good substitute for the IPhone if you're not on AT&T's network.

deadtrend1 11-09-2008 08:34 AM

This Casio Gzone is the best i have ever had. I usually break my phone like 2-3 times a year and this one is still original.

CivicEaterLT1 11-09-2008 09:20 AM

i had my ****** Env then it broke now i have the chocolate 2 and it sucks even more haha. i want a blackberry

Frosty 11-09-2008 09:25 AM

The Storm is supposed to be really good but I had to switch this weekend or else I would've waited for it. Then again I wouldn't use half of the features, hell I won't even use half the features on the Dare...but it's still cool nonetheless.

I have the BB curve....its ok....some other things I didn't like about the TMobile one was that it has no gps in it....which is what I really wanted. Figure for the price it should have it standard

Anyhows....its ok. Only bad thing is the coverage is slim to none (more like none) at my parents house in southern md......with all the people moving down there you'd think they'd try to put something on someone else's tower or something.

Anyhows.....yeah. Just my 2 cents.

I had the Choc 1 phone and that broke so many times they upgraded me to the Choc 2. That was alright. I upgraded to the EnV2. Good phone, no problems.
Have you had any software issues with the Dare? The girl at Verizon steared me away from that phone bc she said she has herd nothing put problems with the software.

Frosty 11-09-2008 09:50 AM

I've been using every option on the phone since I got it yesterday and haven't had a single issue...and that's running an older firmware version, I have to go to the Verizon store to update it.

No freezing, no glitches or anything so far.

1_Hot_SOM_WS6 11-09-2008 09:54 AM

Well thats good! Hopefully Verizon got that issue taken care of then. Good luck with your new fone! :)

I still have mine. My contract is coming up soon, so I am going to get the new version with push to talk. Great phone.

No GPS? There's the default BB Maps program and then you can get Google Maps. They both have directions w/e (Google maps has a "my location" feature. but the phone may not follow you the entire time if that's what you're talking about)

bubba428 11-09-2008 11:55 AM

where did the "e" come into play????

Frosty 11-09-2008 12:14 PM

It's a typo.

VGX 8350. Old school phone. Works fine. Had an 8300 but it went swimming in salt water and didn't like it.

Where does the "s" come into play?:rofl::rofl:

Hence

Blackbirdws6 11-09-2008 12:54 PM

Posting from my Dare at the moment. Its a good phone but wish verizon was a little less obstrusive on its apps. such as VZ navigator. Features Vz has as an app means they block you from getting it free elsewhere.

Knipps 11-09-2008 12:56 PM

They're beginning to do the same thing with the iPhone

sweetbmxrider 11-09-2008 12:59 PM

i always break my phone so yesterday i got the "Boulder". it can take a beating and works under water for half an hour. also has push to talk. sweet phone!

I like the Dare, no doubt. Its kinda small compared to the iPhone, doesnt have the same quality feel that the iPhone does either, two big things im not a fan of.
I get a new phone 12/31.

NJ Torque 11-09-2008 05:01 PM

I don't get an upgrade... I'm stuck with my lousy flip phone. and can't justify $300+ on a new one.

Ian 11-09-2008 05:10 PM

my friend has the dare and he seems to like it alot. I got to mess around with it for a few minutes the other day, I like it. I think JM has one too.

FBODS4EVER 11-09-2008 05:16 PM

i like the dare. being a vz technician, i get a phone for free. no choices. just given a phone. no plans to pay either so i cant complain. i got the one thats like the crazor cb300 or something like that. ive dropped it from many telephone poles. still works.:rofl::rofl:
