Comfortible race seats?

What are some confortible lightweight seats that you would'nt hesitate to sit in and go for a semi-long ride in?

Am I looking for something that I won't find? Lol.

I had a set of Recaro seats in my Ion Redline, not sure of the weight but they are extremely comfortable.

NJSPEEDER 11-16-2008 07:16 PM

Are you looking for racing looking seats that are comfortable or actual fixed back race seats?

Looking for lightweight... but the most confortible... not really the plastic / aluminum kirkleys

Any of the adjustable seats don't weight much different than stock. Most aftermarket adjustables you will find actually weigh more than stock.

If you want to save weight in a seat, you are pretty much forced to spend a ton of money on a carbon fiber shell adjustable or go to a fixed back seat.

The Kirkey seats have a lot of cover, pad, and support options. You can make a pretty comfortable seat out of them if you want.

I love my Kirkey, much better than the Recaro's they replaced. Better fit, better driver position in car, better support and lighter too.

I sat in the Kirkey's that camaroracer1992 has (don't remember which ones they are off the top of my head) and I thought it felt quite comfortable.

yah and your not supposed to use them without a roll bar, so i wouldnt want them in a daily driver in case of accident

I daily my car with a set of sparco torinos. They are comfy but the car is tough to get in and out of. People moan and complain all the time. Its doable

the car they would be going in does have a rollcage.

Mike 11-17-2008 01:11 AM

kirkeys then

jims69camaro 11-17-2008 07:36 AM

the caddy CTS seats are the most comfortable seat i've ever had my butt in. the '90s supra seats are comfy, have solid side bolsters to keep you in place and probably could be had for a song. vette seats can be both lightweight and comfy, depending on the year. fiero seats are the same way, and you can get them with a speaker in the headrest. can you tell i've been shopping seats?

most of the aluminum seats i've been in either are very uncomfortable or have so much padding in them that they weigh more than the stock seats they replaced. i don't know about kirkey's or sparco, but recaro's can be had cheaply and you add what padding you need to them...

my friend has recaros and they are soooo comfy. I also dont know the weight but they are made of fiber glass or something... heres a link
