Putting on a FAST 92MM intake and TB

Does anyone know how long it will take to remove an intake manifold from an LS1 TA?

I heard horror stories about breaking the oil sending unit on these cars.
Is it easy or hard?

It's a stock factory LS6 manifold with stock fuel rails. Do I need to disconnect the fuel rails?

Fuel rails need to come off. Don't forget to leave the intake bolts in the holes when you reinstall it, there's not enough room to clear the cowl to put the bolts in after it's installed. Not a difficult job.

The biggest thing to avoid damage to the oil sending unit is to pick it straight up as far as you can before pulling it slowly forward to get it out of the car. As you start to bring it forward, it may get hung up, don't force it, just stop and get whatever it is hung up on cleared.

mine took under 3 hours

expect the back of your hands and forearms to hurt for a few days

I swapped mine out in about 45 minutes taking my time. Putting the new intake in goes a lot faster. The fuel rails do not need to be disconnected from the lines, you can bend them out of the way. Remember to purge the fuel lines before pulling the rails. My injectors were in the intake tight, just remember to pull them straight and evenly. Lastly, watch out for that damn oil sending unit. Try reaching back behind the intake and feel around to get an idea of what your dealing with. If the intake feels stuck on something, do not force it out. Try to disconnect as many of the hoses and clips from the back of the intake before pulling it, they get caught on the oil unit and snap it. Easy but tedious install, good luck
