Another Ticket Question

I got a failure to inspect ticket a few weeks ago. I can't really fight it because in all honesty, I failed to inspect. lol But my question is this: my friend swears that if the cop writes the wrong license plate you go in for court and you are off the hook. It sounds like this would work for a parking ticket and I know if they write the wrong color or make/model of your car on it it can be dismissed, but since he circled moving violation does this still apply? And he wrote a 9 instead of an R, could it be considered an accident?

Should I try to fight this ticket? Or should I let it go and pay?

Go get it inspected.....and then worry about fighting the 'details'.....and if it comes down to it, mention its inspected. :)

And a pretty smile wouldn't hurt none either

i think the wrong plate info COULD be enough to throw it out. but its not a moving violation for inspection i dont think. moving violation would be speeding, failing to stop etc.

your DL# is on the ticket too, no?

$124 bucks, sucks but your gonna have to pay it. 99.9% of judges will laugh at u trying to have it thrown out for a small mistake, regardless. Yea a lawyer may get you off with no fine, but then u have his fees which would be more...

If its your ticket... you'll be paying it.

Just pay the ticket, you can't fight it. Trust me I know I've gotten 3 of them over the summer.

Yeah I was hoping the same thing with my girlfriend recent ticket but in all honesty I think the only thing it will get thrown out for is the wrong date of occurrence. At that point you just say I was even in X place on X wrong date!

Besides they chicken scratch those things all the time. As long as the key it in right I would think.

It's not a moving violation, no points, no insurance involvement. It really won't be worth your time to argue with them about it. If you go to fight it they are gonna want you to pay something anyway.
Just get the car inspected, pay the fine and move on.

you won't get out of it. most you could do is get it inspected, bring that paperwork with you to show to the prosecutor, and hope he is feeling jolly after the holidays!! otherwise, cough it up.

They keyed it in wrong.

Yeah I was planning to pay it because I did it so I am not gonna argue anything about it. Ahh well.
