Gov giving 13 Billion to auto makers

Just heard President Bush announced he is going to give GM and Chrysler 13 bill in short term loans to help. Ford said they don't need the money yet and shoukd be OK thru 2009.

13.4 this month: 9.4 going to GM, 4 going to Chrysler. It says $17 total, but those were the figures I have seen so far.

This is a stop gap loan, the government is still working on their plan to mess this up properly.

I question the government putting someone in place to make sure things are being run right. In the early 90's the government seized and tried to run the world famous bunny ranch AND FAILED. If they can't even run a whore house successfully, how do they expect to run the auto industry?

"Run this right" and "run this good enough" are two seperate things. All I want from them is a solid B. No A+. Don't even promise that. Just a solid B.
