yeah, i think that's what he means. more along the lines of obsolete, no NOS parts available, etc. it's a good 20 years before there is enough of a base of "restorers" available to have it make sense to start supplying after-market. even then you have places like year one that already supply 4th gen pieces in significant quantities. and everyone and their brother has an LSX block they want to sell ya.
second gens are where it's at, now, though. they slipped quietly from "worth next to nothing" to "finance your kid's college education" in a heartbeat, it seems. i let an '81 go that was in full running condition for $850 that i know i will regret at some point, and that was 2 weeks ago. it seems, as usual, that the Z cars are more sought after, too, regardless of year. i can see buying a plain jane '81 and making a Z car clone...
