hot again

since i got my 4th gen a week ago. the heat was luke warm. upon seeing the radiator cap. it was covered with like a orange gunk. guessing the previous owner mixed dexcool and antifreeze together. and after reading the help some gave another member. i decided to flush the system. the air is hot again. i poured some cooling system cleaner in the radiator with the antifreeze. next sat i will drain and flush again. i assume this will render my system clean. thanks for the tip.

dont leave the cleaner in there that long. Run it and drain it right after..

someone said run three- four hours with the heater on. id be lucky if i even drive it three to four hours all week. should i drain it tommorrow afterwork. im not driving it till then as i bring my worktruck back and forth to work.

Those cleaners can be very harsh, they were only made to be in the system for a short time. The longer you give it the greater the chances of it eating through your radiator, heater core or other parts. I would get it out ASAP
