Got my tax refund today!!!

It's always nice to look at ur checking account balance online, and instead of seeing the $19.79 that should be in there, you see $1,072.79!!! What a start to a great weekend!! Which is a well needed turn around since I was stuck in bed all day yesterday with a stomach virus :(

MonmouthCtyAntz 01-30-2009 07:01 AM

This years should be nice, cant wait

I just filed ours 2 minutes ago. Another year getting quite a bit back. Probably the last year though, since I'm now working a job that pays more than $20k a year and I won't have as much to claim for school since I'll be done in May. but oh well.

rscamaro73 02-01-2009 10:53 AM

I'm still waiting for one from my last seasonal job and we'll have everything. Kinda sucky year last year, so hopefully it'll be worth it for this....and hope this year is much better overall....

emolineaux 02-01-2009 11:50 AM

well my mom just did my taxes today and im getting back 1300! lol

CamaroGirlie 02-01-2009 12:44 PM

So I'm down to like $400....but i gave Martin $300, $20 for my dads bday lottery tickets, $20 for lottery tickets for me, $60 at Red Lobster, $30 gas, $20 at Columbus Flea Market, $32 at Panera, and $20 on yarn....lol.....but i still have $400 lol

bobb1589 02-16-2009 05:28 PM

NJ346 02-16-2009 05:44 PM

Tru2Chevy 02-16-2009 05:52 PM

You're gonna end up paying it back (it's really a loan, not a credit). Just file without it. lol

And turbotax offerred me the option (we're not first time homeowners though).

ShitOnWheels 02-16-2009 07:05 PM

Got both our returns back this past week, less than 2 weeks after filing. Went into savings for the time being. Will be getting a shed, paying part of a loan back (from one of our parents), and a few little things. 1/4 of it will stay in savings.

No, the new stimulus package is bumping it from 7,500 to 8,000 and nixing the repayment, turning it into a true credit. Trust me - I've been on top of it :)

Just don't make the mistake of reporting last year's $600 stimulus check as income since it shouldn't taxable. I think I'm getting around $1400 back this year as they overtaxed some of my stock options I cashed in.

Ah that's awesome. We're not First timers so it didn't matter to us. :(
