I'm actually going to use the refund to pay off some stuff. Then I worry about headers...

GP99GT 02-04-2009 05:34 PM

www.turbotax.com for free federal, and go to the state's website for free NJ E-file for state

deadtrend1 02-04-2009 05:42 PM

ok .. my only question is:

Back in March, I filed for unemployment when I got "laid off" for a week. I never received any money since I went back to work. Do I need to note that somewhere or let it go.

So far Turbo Tax online is saying:
1795 feds
226 state

deadtrend1 02-04-2009 06:06 PM

Screw Turbo Tax Online. Its wants me to pay $30.00.

Ill just mail it then ...

GP99GT 02-04-2009 06:09 PM

$30? for what?

federal is free with them...i just did mine 2 weeks ago.

and if you didnt get any income from unemployment i dont think itll matter

i got all the way to e file, checked OFF state and it said 29.99 how would i like to pay? Credit card or deduct from refund.

ShitOnWheels 02-04-2009 06:18 PM

Only do federal. Go to state site to file state. You'll have to enter your info again, but at least it'll be free.

ok .. how did i read it wrong?

I was just doing fed on turbo tax. Leave the state out of it completly at this point cause its irrelevant.

First screen on the website:
"e-File for free with TurboTax Online, and get your refund in as few as 8 days."

ok, hmm .. interesting .. seems good and all. But when I go to e-file, the last step, it asks for 29.99. Everything during the whole shabang I checked off so I dont have to pay.

So, where did I misread you? Cause I just want to get it done ..

Because you are most likely letting them do the state as well, and that is where they charge you.
