Broke'ed the work truck yesterday

Was out in the yard, went to pull it back in. So I put it in first, released the brakes and proceeded to move forward and BOOM! Started rolling backwards, thought it just popped out of first gear. It didn't.

not only did i snap the axel, but the pin in the panetary sheared as well. Axel must have already been failing cause I really didn't put stress on it. Sweet carnage. :-P

Its one of the trucks in the background of this picture. Cat powered Chevy 7500 Crane...

wow thats a pretty good break. Those axles look weak though

Jb weld can fix that..or so they claim...

I would agree those axels look whimpy..i kinda figured for a 7500 they would be huge...

I don't think it looks like that small and axle. I mean, think of the size of the pick up truck tailgate and look at how much of it is covered. Thats a pretty big piece.

 did you let it come to a complete stop before changing gears?

Lol a 2in shaft is over a 2.5ton rating that a military troop carrier (duece and a half) has. Something tells me the picture is deceiving.

It was just a guess dude. I'll go measure it first chance I get so I don't mislead you ...
