K-Roc to change again?

I was listening to Booker, and apparently that right now, there is going to be a big change.
Im on thier site, and I cant listen to thier radio, so I put it on my alarm clock, but Im not sure if i have the right station.

baddest434 02-20-2009 04:20 PM

seems to work that way. once you find a decent station in comes management with another bright idea!!

same as what happened to 106.3.

Not true, Booker denounced it him-self at 5:00, O&A said that but its not true, turn it on and see for your self......

BigAls87Z28 02-20-2009 10:19 PM

101.9 is good.

Ok, yeah tried to listen to them on line, but trying to connect took like 5 mins with all this buffering.

Nothing seemed to have happened...oh wells, KROC is still here.

Not trying to sound like a dick, but if you can spare $13 a month(2 1/2 packs of cigs, a case of Miller or Bud cans, or 7 Large Dunkin Donuts coffee's) get Sirius Satelite Radio or XM. You get uncensored, commercial free music ,and uncensored talk and sports with limited commercials. I've had it for 3 years, and every so often I tune in to the locals, and they are playing the same $#!t they were playing 3 years ago.

Unfortunately, it looks like this is happening:

I use to like Booker a few years ago when he did nights before he went to Philly...Yea O&A are gone, Howard was talking about it this morning. Not an easy job replacing Howard Stern. They even got rid of Adam Corolla on the west coast a few weeks back. Most of those stations are going to top 40.

Anti_Rice_Guy 03-10-2009 10:06 AM

Now the only halfway decent rock stations are from PA.

Fast92RS 03-10-2009 10:12 AM

That sucks. I have satellite in my car and its great but at work I listen to krock, but I guess I will have to find another station to listen too.

BurninrubberGT 03-10-2009 10:17 AM

i hate these stupid pop/top 40 stations...il miss o&a

dha it is

79T/A 03-10-2009 01:13 PM

Commute sucked this morning without O & A. Gonna have to break down and pick up XM.

Ive been listening to Stern since the mid 90's, I use to like those guys before getting sirius but it got old quick...They use to rip on Howard everyday an there ratings couldnt hold a candle to his...never did understand that.

NEW YORK (AP) -- CBS Radio has announced that WXRK in New York, better known as K-Rock, is switching to a Top 40 format.

The mostly classic rock station will change its moniker to Now FM (92.3) and start playing music from acts like Beyonce, Kanye West, Pink, and Justin Timberlake.

Missing in the new lineup are radio bad boys Opie and Anthony, whose morning show was dropped by CBS in the format overhaul.

It's the station's third identity change since Howard Stern left for satellite radio three years ago. CBS first tried a talk format then switched back to rock.

A spokeswoman says CBS Radio is hoping the format change will bring in a larger and more youthful audience.

ar0ck 03-10-2009 02:02 PM

Its official, XM in both my cars now.

GP99GT 03-10-2009 03:15 PM

did you guys hear O&A yesterday at the end (on krock) when they did the fake 92.3 AMP FM promo? sounds like thats whats happening with a new name

LTb1ow 03-10-2009 04:17 PM

Why the **** is there a sudden urge for every radio station to play goddamned top 40 ********?

Is there really a huge market to justify every station playing the same horrible songs?

SamhainZ28 03-10-2009 04:29 PM

I'm glad I barely listen to the radio any more, since i got the Ipod hookup in the camaro.

Ian 03-10-2009 06:22 PM

I knew something was up when I got in my car this morning and O&A weren't on. I guess its finally time from me to get a head unit with an aux input. radio is dead.

mtg6486 03-11-2009 06:38 PM

****ING KROCK

this f-in station goes frome great rock with no problems to talk. then it comes back ok and now they drop o&a and the rock and switch to pop and z100 type crap wtf. every other area has a normal rock station that can get it right wtf is wrong with ny/nj

GP99GT 03-11-2009 06:47 PM

105.5 and 104.3 are pretty much the stations to listen to now
