Twin Turbo Diesel Vette

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lw9FT...eature=related

This is old and i don't know if its a re-post. but its just something i saw and thought it was something differnt.

camaroAL 02-22-2009 07:47 PM

i was actually thinking of selling my lt1 in my 94 camaro and going duramax. been wanting to do a diesel camaro for quite some time.

NJ346 02-22-2009 07:49 PM

I remember when it first came out people where saying how that it's really not a turbo diesel vette and that the sound was just dubbed on to that video. I forget if anyone actually found out if it really is a diesel though.

Not that every diesel throws tons of black smoke, but you would think that if they wanted to show off the diesel-ness, they would have been rolling coal big time.

FBODS4EVER 02-22-2009 09:11 PM

oh them diesels can run. they can make some serious power. alot of people are playing with them these days.

BigRocsFirebird 02-22-2009 09:39 PM

x2. my buddies Ram 2500 diesel can do that stock...not to mention the edge programmer he had installed....

I have another buddy who has a 02 f350 with the International motor, i think its a 6.2 or maybe 7.0 anyways his truck does that with the 35's it has on it.

I'm with you on this one too. I was waiting for something to impress me and it never happened. I can burnout in my truck all day too, but who cares, I want to see that thing in action.

Those edge programmers are no joke. The performance on the gas engines are even awesome. I want one for mine! We got there new catalog at the Keystone show, they claim up to 40hp/40tq extra on the gas engines and the diesel has 6 levels capable of an extra 150hp/350tq. *Those numbers are for Chevy engines* Insane numbers just from adding a programmer.

yeah no kidding. It has a setting 6 but my friend would have had to sign a waiver and void his warranty for them to unlock it...it added 220 hp and over 300tq......so yeah he didnt do it. As it is that ram used to keep up with my camaro...sad day for me lol

DevilDougWS6 02-28-2009 03:13 PM

the video is fake. its the sound byte from a truck doing a burnout dubbed over a vette doing a burnout.

http://www.1320video3.com/vids/RealTTVette.wmv

thats the real video. it would be pretty nasty to have a twin turbo diesel vette though.

Eh black smoke is just a waste of fuel and poor tuning. A well tuned computer controlled diesel on the street shouldnt make any smoke. Towing or under heavy load is a different story.

I really dont see the point of this video. Ok so diesels have alot of torque and you can spin tires with torque. Lets see a quarter mile or see the vette pull a ridiculous boat
