need injectors

hey guys, im doing a major tune-up on my car and ive decided to buy new injectors. what would be the best place to buy stock ones?

thanks

LTb1ow 02-22-2009 10:34 PM

Why?

Does tune up include a tune? If so, maybe look into getting bigger injectors depending on future plans. If not, look for used ones and get them flow matched.

not a tune, a tune-up as in plugs and wires, new opti and water pump. the only reason why i was thinking about getting new ones is because i dont really know any place to have them cleaned out and tested. i have been having problems with my car lately and i have always had been throwing 3 codes. lean bank one and lean bank two. now i think i have a bad injector that gets stuck open when the car is hot. if someone could give me info on a place that can fix my injectors and have them cleared out that would be great

There used to be a sponser that did that, KGP or something? I would send Justin a PM and see if he can send you some more details.

yeah i remember seeing them but then they vanished right before i needed them hah

yeah something like that, with the french maid in the backround, right? lolol

Knipps 02-22-2009 11:28 PM

Injector Rehab was the name. I think it's funny they canceled the sponsorship and now people are looking for em

Lt1_8U 02-22-2009 11:36 PM

yeah figures:lol:

i just found them online. they have a large section that explains everything, problems you will have and they all seem pretty much spot on to the problems i have been having so im hoping its just clogged injectors

IF you only think you have bad injector I have a used set of stock 24lbs that have about 30K on them if you want to borrow then? If they fix the problem then you can either return them or I'll sell them to you cheap!

I upgraded from my 22's ( 93 LT1 only had 22lbs ) to these and ran then for about 2 years, when I went to the strocker/blower I had to go much larger. But they are 24's from a 97 SS.

ford 24's are blue

and a lean code would not mean you have an injector stuck open...that would cause a rich code on one bank, no?

whats the problem youre having again? have you changed O2 sensors? i tried a few different things before pulling the injectors on my mustang, since i had a stock set laying around...only to find that some of the injectors had no O-rings, one had two o-rings...ran great after i swapped them

Lt1_8U 02-24-2009 10:39 PM

well i am reading lean bank one and lean bank 2 and radom misfire. no i have not changed my 02's yet. the reason someone thinks its injectors is because when the car is hot and i shut it off it will not start up. they believe i have an injector thats getting stuck open and flooding out my cylinder, when i purge the fuel pump it runs through the fuel rails and goes all into that cylinder cuz its stuck open. when i purge the pump more than once(like 3 times) and put the pedal to the floor the car starts right up.

Pampered-Z 02-24-2009 10:55 PM

That is almost sounding like a possible fuel pressure problem. You pump or regulator might be the issue? Do you have access to a FP gauge?

Lt1_8U 02-25-2009 10:25 PM

yes i doo. what should the fuel pressure be at?

Anti_Rice_Guy 02-26-2009 12:57 PM

http://www.shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2...essure_testing Try that Jim

Lt1_8U 02-26-2009 02:35 PM

that did help, im going to try that when i get the chane to see if its my regulator or a leaky injector. thanks nick
