New personal best on street tires
i figured ah what the hell, might as well try something different
my best on street tires that i can remember was a 12.47 @ 113.4 mph and i had the skinnies up front then. weight wise- instead of the convopros with bigs/littles i used my stock rims on all 4 corners with 245 50 16 sumitomo htr Z tires passenger seat and center console still in as well im about 10lbs more than last year i weighed my car this way last year, it was 3480lbs i launched at 4k on the first run, but the track was not prepped...... it was never prepped today at all. stupid fwd cars always in front of me, dripping water from the burnout box up to the line.. Runs 60' ET MPH Run 1- 2.18 12.63 @ 114.48 Run 2- 2.15 12.58 @ 114.09 Run 3- 2.04 12.48 @ 114.00 Run 4- 2.01 12.39 @ 114.70 Run 5- 2.03 12.36 @ 114.98 Run 6- 2.07 12.41 @ 115.25 Run 7- 1.99 12.28 @ 115.13 -> let the car sit for 20mins. left @ 3k rpm my friends filmed but didnt stick around for the last runs..... but pretty much every run went down the same way, so when i get the footage, ill post it up |
the car is about 130-140lbs heavier with the stock wheel & tire combo, seat and console in
I believe with just skinnies up front and a prepped track, i can go 11s on the street tires out back |
Sounds cool, I almost was gonna go but was beat from work. How was it , crowded? The air and da were good today. I'll catch ya down there soon in a week or two.
|
not many people at all. i got 10 runs in total and i arrived there at 1pm
|
ahh crap I left about 1:30 and got 10 runs in.. Wish that I checked this site when I was there on the phone or I would have hung around and snapped a few pics of ya running.
Only the last three runs were decent for me. Cause Im a dumb ass and forgot that I changed something in the chip that didn't work a few months ago. Tho I did get a 12.424@110.8 on a 1.9 60' :D Thats the fastest I've gone with the new engine and stuff. |
Congrats, especially on the street tires and a unprepped track.
|
good runs man, what kinda power you making?
|
thanks all! as far as power goes, i dynod at ttp on november 15th 2008 with a 10series flowmaster and a tune, and put down 331/346 sae corrected
but in 2007 i dynod there with a magnaflow untuned put down 342/362 sae corrected with the blowmaster on i was running 12.0-12.1 @ 114-115, then i took it off with the straighpipe i have now i run 11.8-11.9 116+ nearly 117mph and i ran that time a few days before dyno day, but i put it back on for that day also im thinking the chokemaster was doing what it does best i want to guess my car is putting down 345rwhp/360 rwtq. when i have the bigs/littles and seat out, id say it weighs in the 3350lb range |
Nice runs there ... wow, 12.28 on street tires? I'm barely pulling 12.9's (slow)!
Who knows, maybe I'll get to see you at the track once I get my car fixed up again. |
Nice times

I might make a trip to Atco, depending. If some of the other locals decide to go, I might go there, or if I can get some slicks. After all, there's that whole issue of the forced burnout...
And yes, I'm in the Hopewell up near Ewing/Amwell/Trenton area in Central Jersey. Island is more likely... E-town's definite. |
Congrats on the new street tire best Ron. If I had time I probably would have stopped in and BSed. LOL it was cool seeing you in the burnout box when I drove by
