Muddy Liquid
I was walking past my car between classes just a min ago and i noticed a bit of water front of the car by the passengers side. There was a little bit by the headlight. Im not sure if its the upper or lower radiator is there an easy way to check?
is it safe enough to drive a couple of miles like that? edit: the brown is old lol my bad should flush it |
Could be the radiator drain petcock. Check it, and see if its tight.
yea it seems thats where it came from seein it was all over the battery and what not
i retighented it so well see i guess |
Could be the overflow tube, did you overheat the car?
no i dont believe so i drove like 8-10 miles at max
could have been a loose rad cap as well.
yeah definetly flush it, mine was so bad i thought i lost a head gasket and make sure to take out the overflow tank and rinse out really good cause that stuff doesnt come out with just a simple flush. also it could have came out the overflow tank cap if it was all over your battery.

Coolant leak?
This happened x2 so far (yesturday and today) where i drove my car, got it hot (lil below 210) as usual. Park it and look at the front and it looks as though it released some pressure (along with some coolant) WTF?!?!??! :-x
Has anything like this happened to anyone else? I also made sure the bottle and rad cap were properly tighented. I was thinking maybe the thermostat went bad? or is sticking? it doesnt happen everytime i park... |
i live in oakland, if u would like i could come and check it out for u.
pull the battery out and check to see if the battery tray/coolant overflow bottle is cracked under the battery......seems to be a common problem if you replace the battery and get one that fits "good enough"
Why are you letting it get that hot first off?
its not that hot its less than 210 maybe like 180ish
kinda common for the radiator to crack on that side too. run the car and watch to see where it leaks. then fix.
yea the plastic on the side cracked like 4"
on the rad or bottle?
rad, maybe 5" below cap
yeah that is a typical spot
