The LT4 was a special high-performance version of the new-generation LT1. With the addition of a slightly more aggressive camshaft profile, 1.6:1 roller aluminum rocker arms and better-flowing intake manifold (painted red) and cylinder heads, it was rated at 330 horsepower and 340 lb·ft. It was introduced in the 1996 model year, for the last year of the C4 Corvette, and came standard on all manual transmission (ZF 6-speed equipped) C4 Corvettes.
The car looks phenomenal, but I don't know much about Corvette pricing.

the 96 collectors cars wit the LT4 can be all over the place in price, depends greatly on mileage/condition

baddest434 03-17-2009 04:04 PM

thx alex

that car sure is purdy ain't she? that place sells some cars on consignment as this one is. the guy took 500 off the price and said thats the best he could do. only 29k on her too.

LT4 has all the same hits and misses as the LT1 basically. The only real differences are a better stock cam, intake, and heads. Nothing astronomically better, but the couple extra ponies in a car that weighs a few hundred lbs less than a 4th gen F-body will let it get along pretty good.

Pampered-Z 03-17-2009 04:25 PM

Really no cons of the LT4. the LT4 is a good engine, it's an LT1 with upgraded internals, different heads, and intake that are basically raised runners. i think they were rated around 330HP.

LTb1ow 03-17-2009 04:26 PM

4 bolt mains, and you can spin em a tad higher. Although in the end, its no real difference. Unless you plan on keeping it stock, there is no real performance difference between the LT1/LT4.

sweetbmxrider 03-17-2009 04:26 PM

that is a nice lookin c4. the lt4's got a better timing chain than the lt1's

LTb1ow 03-17-2009 04:29 PM

Yea the LT4 heavy duty nonsense, still a weak chain.

BigAls87Z28 03-17-2009 05:02 PM

The LT4 is to the LT1 as the LS6 is to the LS1.

sweetbmxrider 03-17-2009 06:30 PM

kinda, yeah.

LTb1ow 03-17-2009 06:32 PM

I have an LS1 now?

Teds89IROC 03-17-2009 07:22 PM

:drool::drool::drool::drool:

Doesn't seem overpriced, but its not a screaming deal. Very nice car though, I'm partial towards vettes...I know way too much about vettes for a 21 year old...I'm a dork I would sit and read corvette books

miketa95 03-17-2009 09:13 PM
