Making sense of a tire / gear size calculator

Basicly, I have a 4th gen... Currently run a 26" tire, what would I gain/loose from a 26 to a 28?

3.73 gear, auto, no bottle, 3500 stall..

What RPM are you currently running through the traps at, and what RPM can you safely spin it to?

Since you would be giving up gear advantage(torque multiplication) by going to the taller tire you would most likely slow down a bit.

Only way it would help is if you were having major problems hooking, and that would be more of an indicator that you need to do suspension work than throwing a tire on to band aid the matter.

I have no problems hooking the car...

It was the general consesus that if I'm not spraying the cars/turbo/super charger, it'll slow me down.

Yeah, unless the extra height is just enough to keep you from shifting into 4th (which you probably don't do anyway).
