LS1 oil fill tube

how do i get it off the valve cover without breaking it?? does it twist or pull out?

SamhainZ28 03-27-2009 01:59 PM

you have to take the valve cover off, theres a clip you need to sqeeze on the bottom of the filler neck.

A Ring? Never saw that, mine doesn't have it. I just turn mine 90 degrees and pull it off, same with all the truck engines I've taken apart.

My 98 you just twist...

maroman88 03-28-2009 12:20 PM

different valve covers from 00-up i think...maybe 01-02.

get a bmr stb...no problems getting my cap off, and it sits right on top of it.

98-99 had perimeter bolt covers, but I think the fill tube is the same.

I was under the impression that all the SLP, BMR, UMI and Spohn SB's are basically the same.

I have no problems with my UMI one, and the spohn on my LT1 is identical
