Turbo upgrade arriving tomorrow!!

After being on back-order for over a month, I'll finally be receiving my kit tomorrow!!!

Looking forward to 290hp/340tq - probably will need new rubber soon.

Yes, I would say that you probably will.

Have a date for the install yet?

So you have to stop by on thursday and give me a ride in that thing so I can experience the before / after as well.

Wasn't there some talk of not modding this one?

From being in Paul's sky redline, turbo upgrade must be sweet in that thing. Nice.

Saitin 04-07-2009 09:16 AM

what kit did you use?

Factory upgrades dont void warranty and in my eyes are acceptable

I would like to get a ride in the GXP one day, and then I need Bonzo to talk me out of buying one!

Little G 04-07-2009 12:17 PM

The power is intoxicating. You'll never appreciate your base model once you've commanded the greatness that is Solstice GXP.

no you dont

you have 42 second gens, why not another solstice? you can keep this one at my house :)

NJSPEEDER 04-07-2009 12:19 PM

If you don't already need someone to talk you out of trading in the N/A Solstice for a GXP yer doing it wrong :)

By "not modding", I meant not reducing weight in a manner that would detract from the general enjoyment of driveability. Go fast parts are okay. Go fast parts that happen to be lighter, also okay.

I would trade the base for the GXP so it wouldnt be another car it would replace. Scott keeps telling me to get rid of the car altogether. I do need a daily car though and this one has been cursed from the start really. I cant rely on a car that I have modded so much though for daily use, i.e. the GTA but I could be using the Solstice payments towards buying a house....

You really want me to leave one of my cars at your house, dont you? How about I get another tent and put the 73 in your driveway and then I can get that other 73 shell and start building on that one. Then I can have 4 project cars and no where to work on them!

I really shouldnt spend more money on another car that wont get that much use when I have 2 other cars that need more attention, or 3 depending on how you look at it), when I already am not square on the loan I have and would have an even larger payment for the loss on a trade and little to no money down on a new one......
Honestly I blame Dodge for making such a crappy product. If I could have held out 3 more months when I had the Intrepid I would have had a nice amount for a down payment and an actual vehicle to trade in and I would have ALREADy had the GXP

V 04-07-2009 01:26 PM

well you convinced me...lol. ill be ordering my upgrade in about a month, and have it installed when i get home, along with IC pipes CAI, and catback.

Mike 04-07-2009 01:28 PM

thought you were trading yours in when you got home?

Little G 04-07-2009 06:16 PM

I tried to convince myself not to buy the car since 2006 but finally lost the battle in 2008.
