help... car will not start (non f body Q.)

ok my 01 mitsubishi galant cranks and fuel is reaching the engine, you can smell it from the exhaust, and sparks, but the spark plugs are drenched w/ gas... fuel pressure issue? what parts should i look in to? any help appreciated...

timing? mitsu timing belts should be changed every 60k

Start small.
It doesnt start, or doesnt crank?
Check battery first, then move onto bigger and bigger things.

no it does crank and occasionally studders as if it is about to start

timing belt could have broke. i wouldn't continue to crank it. its probably an interference engine and you can do some damage with the belt broken.

if the timing belt was broken you would hear a high pitch WHIIIIIR sound from the crank spinning freely.

i would pull the distributor cap off and spray it out with gum out. if that doesnt work. open the fuel filter banjo bolt on the firewall. then crank. if no fuel then you have fuel problems.

sounds like your not getting enough spark to start the car over and its just dumping the fuel out the ehxaust while starting.

actually the timing was off... and the motor is done now... so any one want a galant w/ a bad engine???? or ill donate it
