I was there all day today with Nick (the Hammer) who beat the world record for Stock Pulley / Stock Motor Lightning by .001 seconds. Now set at 12.789 @ 105. That record should be broken again by the end of the year.

69BirdX 04-17-2009 09:11 PM

wish i could of went hope everbody ran well

BarneyMobile 04-17-2009 11:11 PM

I was alittle unfortunate tonight:cry:. I started the night out with an 11.08 @ 129 and was told to slow down or I would get the boot since I dont have a 6-point roll bar. So I decided to do a motor pass and bogged of the line and missed 2nd and 4th and ended up with a 12.36. BTW Brandon, your cars looks sweet pulling way from me  lol. Next pass I turn the spray back on. Did another 11.05 @ 125 because I missed 3rd.

The 4th pass was best of them all. I did a nice healthy burn out and pulled up to the line and staged. Left at about 5900 since the track was hooking pretty good tonight. Light drops and I let up on the clutch and the car took off harder than it has. Go to hit 2nd and missed really bad, so I let out and coast. But now the trans wont go into any gear at all now! I pulled of on the first turn off and shut the car off. I go to restart the car and it wont let me back into gear. SO shut the car off again and put in first. with my foot on the clutch I start the car and it takes off. "Wait thats not supose to happen" SO I shut it off again. I go to check to make sure I have all my gears and sure enough the shifter will not go into 2nd gear now with the car off. So Now Im left with a busted clutch and a busted tranny. BTW its a Tick performance Level 2 rebuilt T56.

Now I have to pull the trans out and send it back, replace the clutch and install a 6-point roll bar. Oh and did I mention that this is my daily driver:banghead:

mikes'02 04-17-2009 11:21 PM

I thought I saw Nick once, but I didn't see you around at all. I was there with Karen and her cousin, her sister, her sister's BF, and another friend of ours.

I'd say you did....

Sucks that you hurt the car though man.

- Justin

BarneyMobile 04-18-2009 12:34 AM

Mybe that burnout is what hurt the clutch lol. The car left so hard that time. That RX7 finally caught up to me at the 1/8

deadtrend1 04-18-2009 04:46 AM

Aw man Rob, tnats some bad news there

BarneyMobile 04-18-2009 04:20 PM

I got the trans out and the clutch apart this morning. The disc was welded to the flywheel. Typical of a spec clutch LOL. I guess it doesnt like 6000rpm slips:shrug:

Tru2Chevy 04-18-2009 05:00 PM

So, are you still planning on sticking the other Spec that you have in there?

- Justin

BarneyMobile 04-18-2009 05:42 PM

I already did. Im not that upset with it. I did slip the clutch at 6k and that clutch had alot of abusive street miles on it. Now I just have to wait for the trans to get fixed.

98tadriver 04-18-2009 06:45 PM

holy crap that sucks. i think any clutch wouldve taken a crap, robs car is putting down 590rwtq on the nitrous

BarneyMobile 04-18-2009 07:53 PM

about 2 weeks ago it put down 649tq on RPM's dyno
