New S60 Rear Installed!

What a day. I'm exhausted but everything went pretty smoothly for the most part. Big thanks to my Dad and j0n for the huge effort to help get this done. j0n was an invaluable person to have under the car!

Only thing we didn't get done was the line-lock and DS loop. I need longer body bolts since the subframes are using most of the thread length. The line-lock....just ran out of time. It can wait since I have to break the rear end in anyway.

Total list installed:
-S60 Rear
-Bellhousing blanket
-New Shocks
-Strange DS

My old 3.42 10-bolt w/ support cover and steel DS is for sale in the classifieds section

Yes they did and just a FYI, so wonderful of GM to hide the top mounting points for the shocks.

After all the work at Napa, the stockers ended up working. Go figure. Had to cut an "L" on one of the brake line brackets to mount it to the rear but that was cake. Surprised it worked. It was one of those "walk away" and come back situations.

Not as nasty as Mike's DS but it should do the job.

Yea he did a lot of hard work. He gets into some very tight places, no pun intended.

lemme know how you like that driveshaft. i pretty much picked up the same thing from ron...98tadriver....deffinately can tell theres a stout shaft compared to my old flimsy aluminum one.....whats your shaft weigh about 25 lbs?

3.73 Eaton Posi, 35 spline axles, powdercoated diff cover, 3 channel abs hookup.

Thought about 4.11's but with my rear tire diam and the M6, I need more room for a higher trap. I could go with taller tires but thats not really what I want to do.

LOL not sure how I like it so far. Long as it spins and does its job, I'll say I'm happy with it.

And thanks for the compliment ;)

Looks real good Brian. Maybe one day I'll actually put a real rear in my car.
