New Exhaust 3'' ORY and Hooker CB

been running it open header this weekend since i put the new driveshaft in. went up to connecticut to trade my true duals for a different style setup. 3'' pacesetter ORY and hooker aerochamber catback. I decided to ditch the true dual setup since im going to be running a chassis mount torque arm and front shaft loop  so here we go. oh btw before anyone says anything... he put money on top of his exhaust for mine, even though i needed it.

i dunno about the non squished y...im pretty sure it has something to do with some clearances...who knows...im happy with it.

yes i did chop the corsa tips off my old exhaust before trading because those are pretty expensive and look awesome.

Unless you bang in the frame rail on the car, you gets the flat ORY.

sweetbmxrider 04-27-2009 10:28 AM

oh did not know. i thought i have seen non-oval y's but did not notice if the frame rail was massaged.

JL8Jeff 04-27-2009 11:15 AM

TSP y-pipe is non oval but kind of hacked together. Pacesetter has those "clearance" areas, Kooks is oval for clearance. There just isn't a whole lot of room for a 3" y-pipe under these cars so pick what you like and hope it doesn't smack the floor.

Did you put new headers on or just ditch the true dual when you had to do the driveshaft?

i ditched the true duals when i had to hack down the exhaust. haha so much for ''not gonna be pulling the exhaust down for awhile, ill get the headers welded'' comment a few months back haha.

the real reason for ditching the true duals though is so i can run a proper chassis mounted torque arm with loop combo and not have to redo my whole exhaust....the trade was more than acceptable

yes you are correct once again jeff with the differences in y pipes.

ill get a vid up when i get it on. im gonna have to take it to a shop to have new hangers tacked up because this uses a different style than my duals did.
dammit. lol

I remember that quote! And I mentioned the differences because I've had all 3 y-pipes so far. I think the LPP headers also have the same "clearenced" y-pipe like the Pacesetters but it's stainless. Nothing wrong with that style of y-pipe as long as it doesn't make contact. You made a pretty good trade since it serves your purpose better and the Aerochamber is a decent setup.

sweetbmxrider 04-27-2009 11:48 PM

ohhhhh yeahhhhh i kept saying that hahahaha :moon:

who's torque are did you go with? did you get the "long tube" cross member? i know spohn makes one.

NastyEllEssWon 04-28-2009 12:27 AM

im probably gonna go with the spohn one. its high on the list of things to get. first is tires and an inspection sticker

TheBandit 04-28-2009 09:26 AM

Video or soundclip pleeaaaasee. I always wanted to hear the aerochamber but never did.

NastyEllEssWon 05-21-2009 11:05 PM

as for a sound clip? haha i dont have one yet. come to the chatterbox and hear it in person. im sure i should have a clip after the meet at least

p.s if you look at where the sway bar meets the over axle exhaust pipe you can see the divot and scratches from when i broke my driveshaft
