new odometer questions

i made a new gauge pod for my car, so now i have a new speedometer with the odometer at 0 miles. Does anybody know the procedure with having the mileage verified? I seem to remember that you somehow get a sticker for the door jam with the original mileage on it? Not sure where to go for this? DMV? Anybody have any experience with this?

Bah, just stick a drill on it and go to town! :)

yeah i remember reading it somewhere on the dmv site. you place a sticker on the door with the original miles.

I'm glad this came up because since I'm going to a 6-speed I'm going to have to figure out a new setup and might have to just get a new gauge.

never did anything special for the monte, the 1st inspection i just told the guy old mileage and new. he entered new into the computer, it was a private station. only thing is now doing a carfax or such an odometer discrepancy will come up and future titles will read "not accurate mileage". the car is now soley my exs so i coulndt really care anymore

I think dealers do that when they change the cluster. They put streaker on the door jam.
