top ten cars...

that people can't live without. while that is a broad statement, it was certainly subjective to the responder. hagerty's insurance did a little online poll type thing and this was the result:

10. Chrysler 300

9. Dodge Ram

8. Hummer

7. Saturn Sky

6. Cadillac CTS

5. Ford F-150

4. Chevrolet Camaro

3. Dodge Challenger

2. Ford Mustang

1. Chevrolet Corvette

discuss. try to limit it to the cars that made the list instead of "they should have included [insert favorite here]". this thread isn't hagerty's poll.

How come the camaro is #4 on your post on an F bod site???

red97z 05-22-2009 02:47 PM

I can't understand why half the cars on that list are on it. Saturn Sky? really?

not sure what that means. should i have posted that list on a corvette forum? should i have lied and boosted the camaro to the number 1 spot? should i have just listed them in no particular order? should i not have posted at all?

the poll was about what any enthusiast would think about, i would imagine. i am not sure how many enthusiasts get sidelined into a 300c, but some would tell that it is a performance car despite its heft. there are trucks there, too, which means most, if not all, of us use a pickup on a regular basis - enough to warrant not being able to live without them, which was the original question. now, how did hummer make the list? does anyone really believe that someone would not be able to live without one of those beasts?

madness410 05-22-2009 02:54 PM

i dont think the hummer should be on there at all. im pretty sure you could live without a car that gets 4 miles to the gallon that takes up half the road and looks like a cookie box.

im sure the dodge ram is used by many blue collar workers such as landscapers and such.

WildBillyT 05-22-2009 02:59 PM

Many people can't live without E and F series Fords.

I would have totally lied. Make us feel better for dumping all the money we do into our rides.

well, they certainly wouldn't be able to work without them. i guess that means they wouldn't be able to live, then, since we work to live. well some of us do. some of us work for our houses, cars, literally living paycheck to paycheck.

i would cite the sky as a relative new-comer, and certainly something one could live without. but if they can have hummer on the list, it only shows to go that satrun should be on there, too.

fire95bird 05-22-2009 08:08 PM

how cant someone live without a challenger?

NastyEllEssWon 05-22-2009 08:13 PM

what i see is a list outside of the 3 trucks available on the list that have been mainstays in the american work population (yes hummers are work trucks, ask the military)....the rest just looks like cars that have been having a ''ressurrection'' within the last few years.

im sure this poll is VERY UNBIASED :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I'll bet my life the military has never used a hummer on a single occasion.

I see no Hummers.

Hummers = GM

Humvees = AM General

Military never used and H2 or H3

My point being that the truck that apparently no one that took that pole can live with out is nothing more than a gas gussler soccer mom grocery getter and completely unjustified to be on the list.

If ya really wanna be specific I'd say the number one cant live without vehicle would be the car carrier since I have no intentions of driving to a plant to pick up a car if i ever bought a new one.

Lol imagine if each car had to be delivered individually how much the delivery fee would be

I'd put box trucks on there too. I like eating food and they are kinda needed.

NastyEllEssWon 05-23-2009 07:02 PM

id like that job...individually delivering new cars to customers...

Z28 Heritage 05-24-2009 10:50 AM

G8 Firehawk

Saw one yesterday on a parked trailer.....OMG.......It was black....Nice ride. It would be a close call between that and the new Camaro......Right now......it would be the G8.

Many ambulances are E and F series. Kinda what I was hinting at.

With the exception of the F-150, all of those cars have some form of impractibility that makes it hard to believe that people "can't live without them".

yeah, kind of the reason i posted up to begin with. but, it's an insurance company asking its customers what car they can't live without. A) insurance company that insures collector cars, B) enthusiast's opinion.

Not exactly an accurate sample of people, that's for sure.
