ls1 on a road trip?

not sure if this is the right section to post but it looks like ill be taking a vacation in sc the first week in july. i was just wondering how the ls1 camaros do on straight open highway driving. 7-8 hours only stopping for gas.

i took my 93 z to nc and back and after that it crapped out on me lol. but that car had 175k on it.

the 98 has just around 13k on the motor. i just changed the diff fluid 2 weeks ago. i plan on changing the trans fluid and oil right before i head down.

Hey man, I drove the T/A (LS-1, 6-speed) from Utah to NJ averaged about 9-10 hours a day stopping only for gas and a few breaks three days straight, I didn't have any problems, got good gas mileage (29-31mpg). The motor had 55k on it before the trip. I know you said LS-1 Camaro but thought this might help a little.

ok cool. im planning on leaving at night so im just gonna baby the throttle down there to see what she can get gas mileage wise. no traffic and open highway at 1 or 2 am lol

oh i would be way to tempted on an open road haha but my firend has an ls1 t/a with 100,000 + miles and we take that thing everywhere on like 3-4 hr road trips so you'll be fine imo

You have a fresh engine man I would have no worries....

No worries at all with an Ls1 on a road trip.

drove nj-ohio-nj straight with my SS, no issues

drove NJ-orlando straight, with exhaust manifold leak.. made it fine.. also ripped up tires coming home and "limped" it home with the spare from richmond va to nj(at 65mph) lol

you'll be fine, even now when i went from base to NJ, 4.5hrs, id average around 28-29mpg, and im NOT stock...
