Guys I need your Ideas
So i was Driving my z28 down Route 80 and doing about 85mph and all of a sudden my car stalled. so i pulled over to the side and i waited a few seconds and the i tried to start my car and i started right up no problem. began driving again for a min and again it stalled what you thinks going on with my ride?
you may be out of gas.
clogged fuel filter, fuel pump on its way out, computer or sensor problem. could be anything at this point. Check engine light on ? If so you gotta pull the code. optispark if your car has one.
Checked your pro, so it's a 95 optispark may be the culprit.
Was it raining?
no it wasn't raining it was about 75 and sunny
I still had gas in it. i even fulled it up once i got it off the highway. it still did it.
Any SES light?
Opti
Sounds like a fuel delivery problem/engine sensor. What year is it? I could take a look at it with my scanner and or fuel pressure gauge.I'll be at island dragway tomorrow with a few people on the forums if you want me to take a look at it. let me know.
my money is on the fuel pump
hit the gas tank and then try starting it
icm?
thanks for all your ideas, still havnt found the problem yet.i can drive it around town for now but if i get on it it dies. this sucks
i would check fuel pressure first then. when is the last time it was tuned up?
Does it miss at all or sputter...? Maybe spark plugs?
JW :D |
Year, make model of car...
Current mods or upgrade? PM list? |
Is your Z28 primer black?
check the Ignition Control Module maybe ? |
says 95 Z28 in her profile
my moneys on crank position sensor
Quote:
95 has no CPS. |
yeah nasty fail....
wow really? theres your problem right there
cps = cam position sensor cks = crankshaft position sensor :D |
ok.....thats OBD-II stuff. for 93-95, we have an opti that has two sensors. one sees eight positions, the other sees 360. 96-97 got the hole in the timing case cover.
Sounds like it may be the ICM.
