ls1 rear on an lt1

i just want to make sure before i go buying stuff that an ls1 rear will fit on an lt1 4th gen as long as i go from 3 chanel to 3 chanel or 4 chanel to 4 chanel

will the lt1 brakes fit on the ls1 rear?

the rear itself is basicly the same, the main difference is the backing plates. Why would you want to do that anyways, there are plenty of good rears out of 93-97 f bodies around. In fact I have one here I can sell you on the cheap.

since a 12 bolt isnt really affordable and my car is pretty much a bolt on car a nice 10 bolt should do the trick shouldnt it? im looking for a second 10 bolt to modify and if it ever broke i would still have my current one

honestly i heard that modding a 10 bolt isnt worth the money

Yea the only thing you will need to redo is the ABS. In lt1's the abs plugs in the the center of the housing were as in LS style rears it plugs in near the axles. And as for modding a 10 bolt , look in to Auburn Lockers there the best thing for 10 bolts. Ive seen more than a handfull of 450 hp + lt's and ls's with lockers and there rears are holding up strong.

Not true....the difference you describe is between 3 channel and 4 channel rears (without and with traction control, respectively). Both LT1 and LS1s had both types.

if your car is a 4 channel, check out my for sale ad...I've got a few lt1 parts that you may be interested in.
