I'm impressed with the 1/4 mile perf. #'s but the price is outrageous.

500hp 489ftlb torque. 0-60 4.0 12.1@124mph. 60-0 123ft. .90 skidpad 23+mpg. Beautiful interior and exterior. Production run of only 250 for a car that will be the last "sports car/Muscle car" to come out of Pontiac... Yes a little steep but not too crazy i think. Id buy it before id buy an M3

thats z06 territory  (pricetag wise)

JerzyIroc 06-14-2009 09:08 PM

True, but thats also M3 territory. And in the performance standpoint, the G8 FH wins easily. I totally understand about the Z06 point. But they're two different cars. An M3 would be a better comparison. Honestly, what car (import) can really hang with that car at the price tag?

EDIT: actually the Z06 starts at 74K... At 56K that car womps a base C6

Beat me too it.
56k gets you a CTS-V though...with more power, more luxury, and world class Nurburing tuning, magnetic shocks, and manual trans..
M3 is a totaly different car. Just because its price the same doesnt mean much. Closer BMW would be the M5.

JerzyIroc 06-14-2009 09:44 PM

O wow i thought the cts-v was like 65. cts-v ftfw lol... In a way i can see someone interested in a cts-v also being interested in that G8FH, but at the same time i kinda cant cuz they're such different cars. cts-v is definitely the better car, but considering the extremely limited number being made and it being basically the last Pontiac muscle car to some that might be the deciding factor over the cts-v.

love the toned down interior, the throaty exhaust accompanied by the superchargers whine, and of course the 1/4 mile and skidpad #'s. it seems like a great car. price is set right for a limited production car.

NastyEllEssWon 06-14-2009 10:18 PM

anyone see me type ''c6 z06''. but yeah you can have a used c6 z06 for 50k if you want.

lets see how many people are willing to fork over almost 60k for a 4 door car.

True, you definitely could, but i doubt someone looking for a Z06, C5 or C6 is also looking for any 4 door car. As far as 60K+ for a 4 door...

"The '09 CTS-V is selling well, considering the state of the economy. Cadillac says it sold about 1,000 CTS-Vs in the first quarter of this year. By comparison, the company says it sold around 2,500 of the previous-generation CTS-V annually." - Business Week

You gotta remember, the biggest reason for the price of this car is its a very limited production car AND Pontiac will be no more. I doubt they would be able to get away with this otherwise. I say it would be 45-50K tops if the situation was different.

NastyEllEssWon 06-14-2009 10:44 PM

its easier to justify spending that type of money on a cadillac than it is for a pontiac.

JerzyIroc 06-14-2009 10:47 PM

o Heelll ya lol. **** i'll admit if i had the money id find it hard to drop that much on a Pontiac. I agree 100%. But again it all comes down to what i said before. 250 being made of the last Pontiac muscle car probably ever... To many it'll be worth it. Think about it... People were paying 40+ for a 35th Anniversary WS6.... Why did they spend that much? Because they knew it was gonna be the last Trans Am. If GM decided to have it priced at 40+ just because they wanted to raise the price that would be madness. But people still paid the 40+ because of what it was. The last trans am.

Blackbirdws6 06-15-2009 07:26 AM

Am I the only one to think this car was a bit of a ringer? I can't get around the trap speed of the car.

JL8Jeff 06-15-2009 07:56 AM

If anything they will be bought by investors and brought to BJ auctions for the next 20 years trying to make a profit.

GP99GT 06-15-2009 04:39 PM

with that trap speed i'd expect mid-low 11's

JerzyIroc 06-15-2009 08:48 PM

Ya im sure if you throw some slicks on it it'll be a solid mid 11 second car.... I doubt that's only 500 though. I think they're being a little conservative..
