wow thats sick.
http://www.carbonmotors.com/ that's their site... |
looks a lil too boxy, but hell, im not drivin it, so wat do i care, cool car though
def a nice cop car lol
Good idea, just wonder where all these taxi cabs are going to get thier car's from.
Not like these cars could be resold to the gen public after its service life is up? If it has the space, I dont see why carbon couldnt make a Civilian variant for fleet duty such as taxi cab. It has the built in electronics, the additional space, low maint costs...just remove all the police gear. |
al is right..you cant resell those things and that is a huge factor
Well i was browsing on the site and they actually dispose of the car for the department. It's included in the price of the car.

Maybe not but I was sure I'd seen it on here before
According to the site they have over 10,000 preorders for it. I think it's a great idea. But like some of you guys said if they were smart they'd make a taxi version... or make the worlds first purpose built taxi!! Lol imagine the features....
i thought it was sumthin like 10k people were interested in it.... i duno about pre orders... its guna have to prove itself big time, esp if the best selling taxi/police car has gone unchanged for the last 11 model years, the crown vic, with the chargers and impalas barely taking a bite.
Am I the only one that thinks its fugly? It is a good idea though.
Thats thing has a decent power engine with great fuel economy. Too bad GM cant wake up and put an eninge like that in some of its vehicles.
Its a diesel, and that MPG is company estimated, not EPA....
I talk to a lot of police and public works garages and have chatted with them about this car. Lots of them like the idea, and think on a cost basis its a great alternative if it can meet or exceed the expectations. I think it needs a big PR push, with probably giving some of the first few hundred away to a few big cities such as NYC, Chicago, and LA. |
Looks like an odd version of a new Acura TSX.
thats a sick engine btw. so i now know what i'll be riding in the back of next time lol
Yeah I've seen some articles on the diesel small SUV they're whipping up too.
Hey it'll be easier to spot cops now... |

it says it wont be released untill 2012 so as of right now the charger is pretty much the only thing available and once the chargers start switching over im sure the fuzz isnt gonna want to have some left over fords, the sorta new chargers and that thing. doesnt make sense to have fifty different cars

supposedly the civilian model ended with the 2008 MY. Fleet / Police package was supposed to be down after MY 2009, but now they are saying 2011.
