black roof on NBM trans am? need opinions

my sail panel is bubbling BAD. they're starting to pop and flake. the paint on there looks like a rattle can job to begin with, so i want to redo it soon. what do you think of black on a NBM TA?

here it is on an orange car:

and on blue:

and one i photoshopped:

and on a camaro just to show contrast:

one of my mirrors needs to be repainted as well(previous owner re-attatched it using a wood screw) so i would consider doing those black as well. also doing the black ceta mod.

really on the fence right now. let me know what you think.

i'd like it better if it was tinted with a black sail panel. but either way looks good on pontiacs to me. i'd probably keep the mirrors NBM though.

also, i think the actual sail panel piece bubbles up. not sure what is going on with yours but it might not be something you can just repaint.

id say paint the sail panel black n leave the mirrors nbm

it's not the actual panel bubbling up, but gases coming through. i know it's gonna come back, but since it appears to be spray paint to begin with i wouldn't feel that bad just rattle canning it so it looks halfway decent until i can afford to get it done correctly.

i have the duplicolor touch up paint and it's an identical match to what's on there now. deciding between that and black just for the time being. also have a friend who does vinyl so if i decide to go black i may have him do it. still debating.

any more opinions?

ive always been partial to the black roof and mirrors on the 4th gen camaros and my t/a will be getting done the same when the money gets right

looks better on the orange TA than the navy blue one... i guess if u have a lighter color car, the contrast looks decent, on dark, i think it might as well just match the paint...

for mirrors, i never liked black mirrors not color matched the car. i would def paint the mirrors regardless of how you go, just my :2cents:

Have you done any research on this issue? GM was warrantying that issue for a while, not sure if they still are. It's worth checking into.

black wouldnt look bad at all on a NBM car

I think the black pillars / roof would look good, but keep the mirrors body color.

Could go either way about the black pillars/roof, but definitely keep the NBM mirrors.
