Seriously Annoying...

The nothing but nightmare TPI GTA is acting up again. This time I can not get the car to restart after it runs for 5 minutes. Timing is set, fuel pressure is at 50 psi, got great spark. I've changed the ign module, air temp sensor, fuel filter, fuel pump. I can't seem to get it to start unless you manually inject fuel into it, or a tiny shot of ether. There are no codes set either... Anyone got an idea to try?

Did the car sit for a long time?

Nahh, I just went through a series of problems wit it blowing a motor and a trans, after i did the motor is when this started happening. I'm wondering if the heads or the cam are causing the issue.

Did you test for a vac leak or check that your injectors are all installed properly and all plugged in. Those wires can be a real pita to get your fingers on....atleast with my Super Ram they are.

Did you check the fuel pump? sometimes a combination of a bad pump or a clogged filter with give you this problem? Does the car drive?

I didn't ask about the guage. I want to know what the cts is reading. There is a seperate sensor for the guage in the drivers side head. Hook up a scanner and see what the ECM is seeing.

I drive the car every single day. I haven't checked the fuel filter in a while tho... it only has like 10k miles since i changed it. The fuel pump is new as well. The was properly broken in also. I'll get my scanner and check what the ecm says tomorrow.

Now the fuel pump is makes a straining noise when pump primes pre-start and at idle. I still have 49psi at the rail. Failing pump?
