hey i just moved into my first place finally. it's nothing crazy just a condo in jackson and i was wondering if you guys have any tips or advice for me lol.

congrats, i just moved out of my rents, but i living with my friend and his mother, ehh w/e its much better than home.

congrats on the move. if you have valuables having renters insurance is worth it. i believe i've seen commercials saying it cost like 12 dollars a month.
try to save for a down payment on something that will be yours one day. i know it's hard to save especially if your young, w/child and paying high rent fees but give it a try. good luck

:werd: I kick myself every day for spending ALL my money on cars when I was a kid. I would save up for the next mod, the next car payment, the next whatever, and never saved for a house. When I got married at 29 (in 2002) I actually had to sell my 2000 Maxima back to the dealership because I couldn't afford a car payment and my mortgage payment. I didn't want to risk defaulting on the loan, and I couldn't find anyone to buy the car. My wife did well financially (she had saved the down-payment for our house) but she didn't bail me out - I think to teach me a lesson. :) I bought a beat '86 Olds Cutlass and drove it for over a year until I straightened out my finances.

I say this to every young person on the board with mod fever - SAVE, SAVE, SAVE!!!

yea ive had my car for 2 years and ive been saving so all i have is intake and exhaust lol b/c i put my money towards the important things

firehawk1120 07-05-2009 06:43 PM

you def. want renters insurance it's inexpensive and if the condo burns down you lose everything the owners insurance covers their property not you or your belongings.

btownws6 07-05-2009 11:54 PM

true true thanks i'm looking into it right now
