atco 7/7, now with results
 

i'm getting my car registered tomorrow and i want to go out tuesday to run it. its a 99 formula with bolt ons and a moser 12bolt. i'm hoping i can get a low 12.

i went 13.0 @108 with my stock formula. so i'm hoping i can trap around 112-114 and with a 1.7 60' hit 12.2-3.

i'm new to these cars tho, so my numbers may be crazy, but we'll see.

i hope to see a bunch of you guys out there. then after the track i'll be heading to the best buy meet in moorestown if any of you guys want to tag along.

i'll be in a 99 formula, red body, pewter hatch and hood. black bumper.


update: went today and i'm very unhappy with the results, here they are.

i ran 13.3 @ 106 1.935 60'

best 60' was 1.85.

i launched the car at 4500 and got the 1.85. launched at 5000 and got a 1.90. i was around 4000 when i got the 1.935.

i am really mad that my modded car ran slower then my stock formula. i still picked up 24mph in the back 1/8th. i only picked up 21/22 in my stock car, so idk what the problem is. i was having some problems with the clutch sticking and missing gears cause of it. but the 13.3 was a clean run.

even with the da calc it still is only at 13.0 at 107. the da calc for my stock formula is 12.9 @108/9 i forget.

why is this car slow?

12.63@ 110 1.85 60' (new personal best 60' in the z28)

I left around 4000 rpm slipping the clutch quickly

+1500-+1700DA at time of run

that wouldve been my new personal best if the weather was identical to my 12.48 run

mods (for those who dont know)

01 LS1, lid, ported stock maf, ported stock tb, no muffler and a tune. runs on regular 245 50 16 sumitomo street tires, stock suspension

see thats what i'm mad about. how the hell did your mostly stock car trap 110 and go 12.6 when i'm runnning 13.3 @106 with bolt ons and a moser 12. what is wrong with this car

ls6 intake is what gets your trap up there....low 60 fts is what gets your ets down.

i have an ls6 intake, and i got a 1.93 and still ran a 13.3. that extra .8 sec on the 60' isn't gonna get me down to times like that. still 13.0 at best.

What kind of tires are you running? What are you shifting at going down the track? Is the car tuned? What was the temp outside when you ran your car stock? It plays a big factor.

auto or six speed too ?

It's a 6 speed. Posted up launching at 4000

i disagree. ive gone 12.97@ 110mph with my 98 back when it had similar mods and a LS1 intake

you must be shifting at like 6199 rpms then :wink: lol i shifted at like 5500....:rofl::rofl:



the sticking clutch problem i had too

MT et street radials. Car is not tuned. My other car I ran about 2 months ago. Shifting right at 6k

Get that thing tuned. between that and the temps you last ran in it adds up.
