New GM Stuff
I dont know if anyone has heard, but GM has now came out of Chap 11 court as General Motors Company, no longer General Motors Corperation.
GM Co is made up of Chevy, Caddy, Buick and GMC It has a brand new board of directors headed up by former CEO of AT&T. The CEO and President is Fritz Henderson. Bob Lutz, who was going to retire at year end, has been pulled out and given even more power. Lutz now has total control of not only product development, he is now in charge of marketing and communication. I have read up that GM's marketing is actually more in control of what cars come equiped with then R&D do. Example would be that the reason the Malibu doesnt have Navi is because Marketing doesnt think it needs it, not becaues they couldnt design for it. Lutz now has total control over all angles of product development, marketing and how it gets to yoru eyes and ears. Lutz just said that the G8 will continue here in the US as the Chevy Caprice. He also said that when he took the Auto Task Force around GM's development studios, the ATF fapped all over the CTS-V Coupe and that GM is tossing the idea around of a CTS-V Wagon. It also looks like Lutz does not like the idea of an LSA powerd Camaro Z28. Thats good news. Z28 isnt dead, but its surely getting the true attention it needs to make it a true Z28. |

Yeah, I was watching the report on CNN yesterday. That was quick.
CTS-V Wagon is very likely, since the CTS wagon is in production. would this be the body of the G8? I love the styling of the current G8 too much to see it live on through this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...Kuwait)_01.jpg |
Yes, the Caprice will probably carry the Commodore's body style.
I would think that GM will wait for the revised Commodore, known as VF, till we see the Caparice. And your picture doesnt work. |
Al-
It should work now. Thanks for the heads up. |
Eh...that is the ME Caprice, based on the LWB version or "WM" chassis. It wont look like that.
If tomorrow GM was going to make Caprices, it would look like a G8 with Chevy nose. |
^^ whew. That's good to hear. The G8 was definitely a grand slam.

Pro: Cool car that they have in their lineup Con: You know you will see one on your ass with flashing lights... Seriously though, it's great news. I want something on the G8's platform when I eventually get rid of the GTP. |

Yeah i actually kind of like that aside from the rice-ish ground effects and vents. I liked the g8 in general. They should have never killed the rwd full size for police cars. Always wanted a gm rwd mid-size like the caddy catera(POS) or comparable to the 3 series. Will finally have it!

Nothing wrong with the spoiler either http://photos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-...72516_3369.jpg |
Glad to hear they will continue the G8 in a different form. Car is too good to just let go. Can't say I love the styling of the Chevy versions but if that makes parts more accessible then so be it. Good stuff.
