Just checked the timeslip....12.58 on a 1.98 60'...this car should see 11s with bolts-ons relatively easy.

ohhhh I could have sworn I saw long tubes on it when I was over there last.
still ls6 intake pops it out of the "stock" range

BigAls87Z28 07-24-2009 12:12 AM

Half a second off average times with an intake and tune...
Something tells me GM really left a lot open with this car. Its like the G8's. A tune and better breathing, and there goes a half a second.

yeah i know for certain he has a ls6 intake on that car  maybe even a street tune?

MonmouthCtyAntz 07-24-2009 06:10 AM

I think they mentioned somewhere on that 5thgencamaro site that a car w/ the same mods and dr's ran a 12.2 or something...Sorry but for a tune and intake thats impressive.

the motor in his camaro is an 01...came stock with an ls6 intake.

Yea i think i posted this somewhere else but when the Ls1 first came out I saw a guy cut a 12.70 is a bone stock formula @ Etown no less @ a packed tnt night...Just stating these cars do have potential and w/ mods obviously run faster then LS1's even w/ the heavier weight.

I dont disagree, I think there is a lot of potential. Hell, if I had the money, I would be pushing its potential right now!

I'm just making fun Ive seen his car run lol, I'm sure it can hit 12.5 easy bone stock,I'm waiting to see it hit 11's as it is now
LS1's have a lot of hidden potential that comes out with very minor mods.
I'm sure teh 5th gens have jsut as much potential hiding some place.

yeah but for a 99 a ls6 intake would be considered a bolt on....doesnt matter what year motor you have. goes by car. hehe

98tadriver 07-25-2009 08:32 PM

no, it wouldnt be, because the 2001-2002 LS1 engine came with the LS6 intake from the factory. and you are still completely missing the point here. I still have a LS1 powered 98-02 f body.
