how screwed am i?
 

so i just got out of court for speeding 15-29 over the limit and it cost me $139 bucks but i got 4 points also...i already have 2 so im up to 6, anyone know if i have to take a def. driving course or somthing or should i just wait since im going away for college and wont be driving till next summer?

well ur insurance is still gonna go up regardless of if ur at school or not

take the driving course also

take the def. course cuz then ur on probation a year and if u get a moving violation in that year its automatic loss of license(i know cuz i got 3)

Now having 6 points you are also going to have state surcharges for the next 3 years.

You really should have paid out of pocket a big cash fine for a reduction in points... you'll be sorry you didn't over these next few years.

depends..sometimes the prosecutor wont let you do that. in woodbridge it happened to me..

I'd say you're pretty screwed. Take the defensive driving course. It won't help a whole lot, but it won't hurt, either. I'm not sure if it still works the same way, but I recall that for every year you go without a ticket, you lose a point.

I'm curious to know how it went in court that you managed to walk out of there with four points. Did you go in by yourself without a parent or guardian to help you through this? Sounds like the judge was trying to make an example out of you. Ouch.

it's three points for every good year with no violations. while that sounds like a god-send, it's actually not very easy to pull off. you have to stop using copious amounts of the go fast pedal. no speeding at all, and always wear your seat belt. you know, grown-up stuff.

I have 8 points and my insurance went down 12 bucks this year. I dont think itll will hurt that much
