So it's faster, what's the big deal?

I've seen honda civic run low 10's. It was most likely built for less than what the price of the zr1, hell z06 too.

LOL. Sure, I mean why bother to look at the crazy brakes, carbon fiber body parts, yadda yadda yadda.

NJ346 08-18-2009 10:15 PM

there really isn't anything major done to that car. It's got a small shot of nitrous and a cam, I don't see it listing a set of $3k heads or anything like that that would make it seem suspicious. Also remember the car is an auto, autos are purely track cars, they don't need to make a whole lot of power to put up a good number. One could buy a c5 and build that car for 25K if they know what their doing.

Those things just add weight!

BarneyMobile 08-18-2009 10:37 PM

:bs: I call BS on this one. I see a stock LS6 intake and no mention of any aftermarket heads. Cam only with a 75 hit of spray and a high stall might hit just shy of 500rwhp but to say it run 10's on street tire, No-way! On street tires I'd give him 11.50's and thats being generous, unless it was Ron driving then maybe 10's:rofl:

NastyEllEssWon 08-18-2009 10:50 PM

its an auto. its possible with 500

WildBillyT 08-19-2009 08:17 AM

Without knowing cam specs, who knows?

I don't know how many 10 second passes a driver could get away with with no roll bar.

And he claims 10s on street tires. Low tens with slicks is "estimated."

Slow-V6 08-19-2009 08:46 AM

Lets just say the car is making 380 rwhp on motor and on a 75 wet shot 450rwhp.. Thats pretty good power but not ZR1 power.

V 08-19-2009 09:04 AM

maybe a 90 zr1

HeadlessNorseman 08-19-2009 09:17 AM

yeah through stock heads even on the n20 i dont see it making that kind of power. Although, it could just be someone with money that went to an engine builder and they just have no idea. I mean it would be very easy to tell if you were to just go and look at it first. who knows anything is possible on the internet

Blacdout96 08-19-2009 10:31 AM

Depends what you mean faster. 1/4, sure, top speed, most likely not. Not only that, but it doesnt have as technical advancements in it like the ZR1 like Ferrari derived brakes, a multitude of carbon fiber panels and parts, and the longevity that the ZR1 would last without maintenance compared to that vette to keep up wiht it.

NastyEllEssWon 08-19-2009 10:33 AM

well there are people out there running 11s in fbodies with cam only.....its possible

NastyEllEssWon 08-19-2009 12:33 PM

i meant solidly.....i think the fastest cam only car is like 10.8's.....iirc

BonzoHansen 08-19-2009 12:47 PM

As long as there is no turn at the end of that quarter mile I guess you can try to make that comparison.

sweetbmxrider 08-19-2009 01:00 PM

i think its possible for it to hit high tens with a cam and some spray. just needs to be set up well. the street tire things is a little ehh but i don't know what he is callin street tires.

NastyEllEssWon 08-19-2009 01:02 PM

id say anything that is DOT approved is considered a street tire

A quick time pro doesn't count IMO.

Probably something similar to my sumitomo htrz 3's that look like slicks 0.5/32 tread ftw on street tires, they do make cheap slicks lol

69RSZ 08-19-2009 04:08 PM

you all missed the 3:42 axle ratio!! No way is that car running 10s with a 3:42 gear considering the HP to weight ratio maybe high 11s.
