As much as apple products annoy me...
This was definitely cool to hear. Guys kept mugging a bunch of people at my university (I guess we look like dorks). But we got our revenge

Good feature. But i'm sure pretty soon thieves will catch on & start disabling the feature or breaking them for parts or something.
Regardless, glad you guys scared some scum away from your campus |
haha that's funny, but yeah they probably will catch on very soon.
|
i would too... you look like an easy target
love, squirrel:) |
those look like perfect law abiding citizens who have never committed any crime before in their lives...
they look pathetic. |
idiots always remove the sim card from any phone you steal, robbery 101.
This isn't the first story like this that I've seen.I think it is going to get easier and easier as technology gets better for the average person to find the culprit that robbed/mugged them. |
I think GPS should be built into everyphone. It's only a matter of time before its standard in phones.

my phone has an application where you can get your location by longitude and latidtude by connecting to 3 or more GPS satellites. its a sony-ericsson
|
as for 911... phase 2's give exact location with long and lat and shows on our maps... phase 1's, the older phones, will map to the nearest cell tower.
|
All phones have GPS not just for 911. Last year some idiot broke into my job and stole our phones. Cops zeroed in on the guy as soon as we reported them stolen. Big Brother always knows where you are now.
There's another great story like this one, that i can't find right now....But this woman in the Bronx had her MacBook stolen. She used the"Back To My Mac" feature took a picture of the idiot as he was using her laptop. Brought the pic to the police.....as the story goes she got her computer back. |

my wife has a $200 phone, I have a 80 dollar phone, her's has all those gadgets, I dont even have tetris on my phone. My grand parents. Psh, they look at a cell phone like they just created fire, everytime they find something new out about their cell phones, they have to tell us like they are the first ones to find out. I doubt that all these phones have pin point GPS, most likely just my wifes, and our phones are based off of tower triangulation. |

you dont think so huh? you're pretty trusting. like i said before. just because your phone doesnt have a gps application on it....doesnt mean its gps free  |

2. You can't just slap a radio receiver or transmitter in any device if it is to be sold in the USA. That device must be registered with he FCC and public records are kept about every device model from cell phones to bluetooth dongles. 3. Even *if* there were gps's in most phones now a days, there are extremely strict and documented rules on how that can be used, generally, 911 calls exclusively. 4. You're crazy. :) |
As much as I hate apple products.....
I read someone has different software for iPods? Anyone wrote new software for the iPod touch yet? I would consider buying that as a head unit for my car as long as I dont have to use the Apple software.... |
