my DD, another toy

figured i'd post up my new DD to see what you guys think.

i've been into saturns for years and i got out when i bought my 00 formula. a little over a month ago i hydrolocked the engine, so i needed a new DD.

i found a 99 saturn SWP on CT craigslist. i took the train up, got temp plates and drove it back down.

the first step was tint and the bumpers were off to get painted

painted bumpers, side skirts and door handles. dropped 2"

new wheels

and here is the real money shot

http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ewayz/swp3.jpg

yup, she's right hand drive. i love it. it such a different car, and i love having something no one has ever seen before. there were between 200 and 300 made a year. so i have 1 of about 1000 ever produced.

plans are to do a 5spd dohc swap. and then to turbo it. its not gonna be fast, but i'm shooting for 13.5 at 105-106. plenty of fun for the street with a DD.

I've never met someone that has a thing for modding Saturns. Cool, but a station wagon? I would have gone with a SC.

Not really a fan of the wheels, but otherwise it looks pretty cool

sweetbmxrider 09-13-2009 10:52 PM

dude your crazy  mid 13's in a saturn wagon would be pretty cool. not liken the wheels either though.

WayFast84 09-13-2009 11:05 PM

I believe he had like two or three 12 second Saturns before. I don't get whats so shocking about someone modding a Saturn. People mod way worse car's like pinto's or ford focus's.

Although I modded mine to be a more comfortable and useful daily. It has a tow hitch, built in bluetooth setup, Monroe shocks and struts and upgraded sway bar ends, some sound deadening, new tires going on this week, and a Yakima roof rack to be installed eventually. Although 15.8 @ 88 on a hot summer day is impressive for what she is. 74k miles and counting. I have more mods planned for her as time becomes available including more sound deadening, 18" wheels off the redline package, and leather seat covers

Yeah pretty much anything right hand drive made in the US or for US market originally was a mail vehicle. Some old CJ jeeps are I believe and definitely cherokees.

Is it true you need to take an exam to be a licensed right hand driver?

maroman88 09-15-2009 11:52 PM

there was a new 4dr wrangler on ebay not long ago in RHD

gotmudnj 09-16-2009 12:22 AM

im a huge jeep guy and if you go to a website called postal pete i believe he can make you a jeep in right hand drive....its pretty cool but expensive a bit but worth it to have something different.....
