Tranny pan/Shift kit
 

I think I am going to throw a shift kit on my car, but not sure which brands are better than others... 95 4L60E.

Also, since I would be there, a deeper pan, thoughts on that? Would a summit variant work?

Derale makes a good pan from what I hear.

Yea I was looking at them in the summit mag, they are also one of the cheapest... 75 bucks.

Shift kit? You do have a 4l60e just get it tuned to shift harder

you can buy a pan to hold more fluid, always a plus but not needed.
transgo or tci shift kit,
but easiest way to apply more pressure , shift firmer and clean up shifts a lil is to install corvette servo, or you can by upgrade servos (billet ones from sonix)

he probably has the parts in stock, and you should ream the valve & install the 1860 code update kit which hasn't been done yet should be cause it will happen sooner or later.

I was planning on doing it myself. No sense in throwing big money at a tranny that will probably explode sometime soon.

If you want a budget-friendly deep pan, get a trans pan from a '99 (I think that's the right year) Silverado with the 4L60E and matching filter. I believe it's about 3/4"-1" deeper than the original pan. Years ago I put one in my '96 Impala SS, and it worked out well.

I picked up the transgo HD-2 reprogramming kit, thats what I will be installing this saturday.

Don't go with the Derale pan, its a pos, you can have the one that's sitting on my 4l65e.
For a shift kit go with transgo, the trans in my car has a transgo shift kit, and it has seen 200+ passes.
I would go with TCI pan, we could get you both the shift kit and pan, I'll get you prices on them tomorrow.

when i had my hypertech tune, there was a definite difference in shifting.

You will not feel the hard shifts with a sloppy converter like you have . All of the shock is absorbed into it. The only time you might feel a stiff shift with a set up like yours is under WOT and even then it may not be all that great because of the inefficiency of the converter itself.

Put a good torque converter in the car and you will notice it does EVERYTHING better..

I'm not sure there are any noobs left on 'tech. My offer still stands if you want my pan. I think currently its being used as a "bolt & misc. hardware tray"
