another easy computer question

Situation:
When not actively using computer, it logs off and I have to hit the user icon to get back to the desktop. Not terrible or the end of the world , but annoying. It is set up as 1 user (administrator) currently. I am using XP.

Desired Outcome:
I would prefer it not to log off and got to a screen save when not being used.

how is this achieved?

Start-> Settings-> Control panel-> Power Options

Disable monitor and harddisk sleeping. and on the bottom disable system standby.

Then just turn a screen saver on. That should do it.

what ronin said. its all in the power options, you can set timers on the screen saver/sleep mode/whatever else, or turn that stuff off altogether

seems to have resolved the problem. thanks

yeah, that was an easy one. whoever installed XP on your computer opted for those things, and it is actually considered tighter security that way. one step further would be to require a password when it comes off-idle.
