The hockey shot of all hockey shots...

http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puc...urn=nhl,195876

I've seen it scooped up and shot between the legs but nothing like that, holy ****.

I love the goalie's reaction...just puts his glove hand up and was like WTF? lol

WayFast84 10-14-2009 06:37 PM

Nothing new... We used to have shoot outs at the end of Friday practices to have some fun before Saturday games we had 1 freshmen, 2 juniors and our assistant coach actually score on a decent goalie with that...

Yeah the way his hands went up was funny that was a true WTF moment for him.

Jersey Mike 10-14-2009 10:10 PM

Wow, those two videos were awesome. Great puck control for their ages.

Czop418 10-14-2009 10:33 PM

sweetbmxrider 10-15-2009 07:10 AM

It's not hard for a 9 year old kid to do that.

You have an older brother or sister, father, or uncle who is serious about hockey and start having kids skate at 2-3 years old and you can be very very good at 9 years old.

I'd place a large wager you couldn't do that.

that can be said about any sport. it's a shame to see it taken to such extremes at times. however, this 9 year-old is going to be a helluva good stick man if he stays with it.

It's actually not the same as any other sport. Soccer, baseball, football, basketball and tennis can be practiced anywhere anytime. Go to an open field or a park with a tennis court or basketball court. There's tons around you can just go to for free, any day of the year.

As for ice hockey Unless you have a pond in your backyard and live somewhere very very cold it's not the same. You have to PAY for ice time. Sure you can practice stick handling off the ice but for every other part of the sport you really need all your equipment on and the ice for it to be the same...

Most people who don't play don't understand how tough hockey is. How much all the ice time costs...

My friend pays 8 grand a season for his junior team...That's cheap as hell and he gets a discount...

Have you ever even been ice skating? There's no way in hell he has only been skating a year. He has correct technique and he has started at a very young age by a good coach.. In hockey the older you get the worse the coaches teach proper technique because they expect you to have it all ready.

who gives a crap?

GP99GT 10-15-2009 11:40 AM

i didnt know money = skill

sweet shot though, i think someone was trying to do taht in the NHL all star thing this year

alamantia 10-15-2009 11:44 AM

Its tough enough for athletes to hone their skills in football, baseball, basketball tennis etc. try playing those sports on skates.

I played football and hockey growing up. I often hear football players say that hockey is no where as tough as football. Football has some big guys no doubt by so does hockey. In football I had twice the padding and ran half as slow is can skate. I also didnt have football players cutting me with skates, shooting pucks at me, swinging sticks at me, pushing me intio nets and boards or fighting me so I dont agree with that comparison.

How much do you pay for you clubs? Your gay golf outfits and shoes?

I know I spent

$210 for a hockey stick I broke in one game.
$200 for a DECENT set of skates.
$100 on a pair of entry level gloves.
$70 on elbow pads that are all ready ripped up.

Have had the same pants, shin pads, shoulder pads and helmet for years.

I spent $70 on a chrome cage after I took a slap shot to the cage while screening the goalie...

You also forget about the cost of going to games, sometimes in other states... Forget about tournaments.........

edit..

And I'm not biased I played Lax in highschool and my teammates where half the athletes my hockey teammates where. Also most of us where TWO OR MORE sport athletes and they still where in no wheres near the shape of my hockey teammates
