Tires

can i sqeeze a P305/45R18 on a 9.5in wide wheel?

creeper 10-28-2009 11:55 PM

305/45/18?!?!?

is this for an f-body? that tire would be over 3 inches taller than a stock tire...it would throw off the abs sensor and speedo, and also it'd be a pain to fit. 285 seems to be the widest people run on that size rim for our cars.

Stupercharged 10-29-2009 12:00 AM

lol yeah its for an f body lol and i dont have abs no more lt1 units break all the time so i just removed mine. and speedo can be recalibrated. I would get 305/35/18s but they say minimum rim width is 10in so idk it would be a whore to mount

Stupercharged 10-29-2009 12:02 AM

unless i can find better drag radials for it.....

creeper 10-29-2009 12:04 AM

you couldddd get it to mount, safety is debatable though. i saw a guy on tech get them on and he got them to fit on the car but he didn't like how they raised the rear.

are you looking at the nittos in that size? they were originally designed for the lightning, a lot of people used to be interested in those for our cars until more appropriately sized options came out

creeper 10-29-2009 12:08 AM

could always just go with a 275/35/18 BFgoodrich drag radial, they're supposed to be a little sticker than nittos than what i've read

NJ Torque 10-29-2009 12:55 AM

Like I said, No...

Its also a 29" tire...

sweetbmxrider 10-29-2009 07:22 AM

i definitely would not.

S.J.SLEEPER 10-29-2009 08:46 AM

go with the new 295 drag radial by m.t.

Stupercharged 10-29-2009 01:42 PM

the 295s are for 17in rims :( and the only one that looks compatible in mickey t sizes is a P265/40R18

S.J.SLEEPER 10-29-2009 03:20 PM

Yup, sorry always thinking 17's.....
